Lenovo has introduced a new ultraportable series to save your back from further 17in Tosh Qosmio-inflicted damage.

The V100 joins the larger C100 and N100 in the company’s growing stable, and packs a surprisingly fearsome punch for a 12.1in ultraportable.

It comes with the choice of either Core Duo or Core Solo processors, up to a 100GB hard drive and a dual layer recordable DVD drive. Impressively, it shoehorns this into a body that weighs just 1.8kg, which compares quite favourably with the 1.2kg Flybook.

Like its 9in rival, the V100 has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on board, but goes one further and adds a 1.3MP camera and three USB ports.

The laptop’s price is, like its weight, a little less than you’d expect too – deals start at £860. Interested? Head over to Lenovo’s site for info on stockists.
