Leica Paul Smith cases shall go to the ball

Stylish camera manufacturer enlists sock designer to make croc skin lens protectors

If you’re rocking the fashionable Leica D-Lux 5, your catwalk-esque snapping could be about to take a turn for the, erm, stylisher. Paul Smith has teamed up with the classic cam maker to design a pair of new cases. Naturally they’re “exclusive” and “limited edition”; only 300 are being made. Half will be in chocolate brown calf leather with a bit of one of the British designer’s socks on the side, the other half in light grey crocodile print.

You’ll be able to pick them up in person from Leica’s Mayfair, London, shop from October, where the nice man behind the counter will expect you to part with £200 for the pleasure. We’ll be there, too… window shopping, as usual.
