You know the score: buy a printer for a knock-down price only to find that, when the ink runs dry, the cartridges cost a small fortune. Not so these new Kodak pigment sprayers. The camera king is offering bargain ink prices, in the hope that we won't mind paying a fair-dinkum rate for the hardware itself. The machines in question include the all-in-one print, scan, copy, fax and grill eggs (probably) 5500 (pictured) and the almost as multi-talented 5300 and 5100, which both miss out on the keypad for faxing. While they'll set our American friends back between 150 and 300 greenbacks a piece, the cartridges will cost a mere ten to fifteen bucks – or £7 to £10 when they arrive here, though no word on the UK printer prices. That’s sure to make them the cheapest top-brand consumables on the market once that initial outlay’s overcome. Better start saving for the printer now.
