Kill pesky flies this summer with a salt-firing shotgun

Become death, destroyer of worlds. Or destroyer of flies, at any rate. Either way, put down that swatter and upgrade to the 21st century method of fly annihilating

Flies have long been the black-winged banes of summer, with their incessant buzzing and constant need to get all up in our grills.

Thankfully one man has taken it upon himself to free us of their torment by creating the Bug-a-Salt – a shotgun which fires measured pinches of salt that instantly kill any winged pest on impact.

No batteries, no chemicals and no fuss. Just cock the handle, let out a cheesy one-liner and send the winged demon spawn back to the abyss from whence they came.

So far creator Lorenzo Magglore has smashed through his US$15,000 Indiegogo goal with US$90,000 raised, so here's to hoping that these much-needed fly killers will be in our hands in the not-too-distant future.

Head on over to Indiegogo now to pre-order your very own Bug-a-Salt for US$30 before dealing out some swift salty justice. It'll come in handy for seasoning your dinner, too.
