Porsche Design’s P’9522 is the Paris Hilton of phones – it’s easy on the eye, a bit thick and was struggling to be relevant two years ago. In a world of younger, smarter and prettier things, it’s fallen from grace (and the pages of Stuff), but recently it booked itself into a private Beverley Hills clinic for a spell and has now emerged with an 18-carat gold facelift. That won’t hide the fact that its headline features are a 5MP camera, GPS and fingerprint scanner, but there's still time for a surprise on the price tag, though details are being kept under lock and key. It’ll be four figures, we imagine, and that’s a fair whack for a mutton handset dressed as golden fleece.
Just because they could – gold Porsche Design P’9522
How else do you shift your two-year-old stock of well-made, but totally outdated phone stock?
