Jaws comes to Blu-ray this summer

We're gonna need a bigger resolution. Universal remasters Spielberg's classic for the company's 100th anniversary

Universal promised us re-mastered classic films for its centennial and – true to its word – we've got a release date for a digitally-enhanced Jaws on Blu-ray. Keep August 14th open for a gallon of fear, thanks to a version of Jaws that looks and sounds better than the cinema original.

Steven Spielberg's 1975 shark classic has gone through a painstaking upgrade process to bring a visually improved, upmixed 7.1 audio version of the film to Blu-ray. The whole process is explained in a short documentary video below. And if the new version of the film isn’t enough to sway you then the four hours of bonus features – including The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact & Legacy of Jaws documentary – should do the trick.
