iRiver is working on an iPod Touch battling, Android-powered media player, according to whispers picked up by the big ears at Engadget.

This rumour is truly word-of-mouth, reaching Engadget from the mouth of Danny Bejanoff from C.R.Kennedy, iRiver's Australian distributors.

iRiver's mysterious Android-based media player reportedly rocks a 3.5in touchscreen, WiFi, an accelerometer, Bluetooth and a digital TV tuner. Sounds tempting to us.

Apparently the Android rocking rocker is little more than a dream at the moment and there's some other whispers to go with it. iRiver are also reputedly working on an ebook reader and an internet tablet.

We'll take all three thanks iRiver! In the meantime point your little peepers at our review of iRiver's current iPod Touch tussler, the iRiver P7
