iPod rides subwoofer spacecraft

You’d be forgiven for never wanting to see another iPod accessory again but our policy is, if it looks like a spaceship, you have to at least give it a chance.

The iWoofer is a spherical, stereo throne for your post-2G iPod, with the juxtaposition of its 3W speakers and 6W subwoofer giving it the look of a startled alien.

Aside from pumping out your Pod’s tunes – an audio-in cable is bundled for other players – it also has an FM radio with auto-scan tuning and room for several presets.

The coolest feature, though, has to be the completely unnecessary blue halo light, which can be coerced into doing a flash dance in time with the radio, or just turned off if it gets too annoying.

It can also act as your portable speakers for the summer if you fill it with 4 AA batteries, and is available in white or black.

The two versions of the iWoofer – the Nano one for smaller ‘Pods including the Shuffle, and the standard model for 2G iPods and beyond – both cost £95, and will be up on the iWorld website later this week.
