Just when you thought you couldn't slot your iPod into any more accessories along comes a new one that's set to become an indispensable addition to your white plastic goods' collection.
Just in at Stateside gadget emporium Think Geek, the iHome is a clock radio with a difference. Imagine your old Morphy Richards, then add a decent sound set-up, a modicum of style, nifty features and, of course, an iPod dock.
Slot your shiny white monolith into the top, set the wake-up time and come morning it won't be the shrill ring of your clockwork Mickey Mouse ticker that pierces your slumber, but the crystal clear audio of your iTunes playlist.
And this clock and speaker set up isn't just to wake you in the morning. It's sleep function can gently send you to dream land in the evening for 15 minutes or up to two hours depending on your preference. Independent volume controls let you keep it soft at night but cranked up in the morning. And while you sleep, your bed-side companion is busy charging your 3G, 4G, video or Nano player. If you own a Shuffle it'll still work but with a slightly fiddly adaptor.
Battery back-up keeps it going even if there's a power cut and there's still the option of AM/FM radio or a standard buzzer if you want a morning off from the 'Pod.
Think Geek'll flog you one for $100 (£60) plus around $30 international shipping.
