iPad Smart Cover screen revealed

It looks like Apple’s iPad may have an answer to Microsoft’s Surface cover-keyboard

Just as we thought Microsoft was about to pull the smart cover out from under Apple by unleashing the keyboard-case toting Surface – Apple reveals a patent application for a screened Smart Cover.

The patent, which shows Apple is treating the Surface as a serious threat, posits a Smart Cover that draws power and data from the tablet to display on its flexible flap screen. It appears that may comprise of several small screens with folds between, or one large – presumably folding – screen.

Apple may or may not have the tech to create this right now but we love the idea and hope it gets out of the design stage soon.
