Intel Retina Display iMacs edge closer

With Intel’s new Sandy Bridge processors supporting 4K, Macs could be about to get hyper HD

Imagine the iPhone’s Retina Display on an Apple Cinema Display scale – eye-watering stuff. Intel has just alluded to that exact possibility by announcing that its next-gen Sandy Bridge processors will support 4K resolution (up to 4096x4096). With YouTube now also compatible with 4K resolution at 16:9 (4096x2304) and Apple pushing high-end screens like the Thunderbolt Display, it’s only a matter of time before we can see the internet writ clear at 219ppi.
