Nearly two months to the day that iMac went exclusively dual-core, it's portable chum MacBook is doing the same. Apple's armed the one-inch thick lappies with Intel's Core 2 Duo processors for Shiva like multitasking. The base model gets a 1.83GHz engine and 512MB RAM, while the mid and top range enjoy 2GHz of power and a respectable gig of memory. Apple claim the trio are 25 percent faster than their single core predecessors. All three also pack built-in iSight cameras and the trusty MagSafe Power adaptor that disconnects safely when snagged by the ankle of a passing colleague. Alas, the ultra desirable black case is still only available with the most expensive model - better start saving.
