INQ, makers of the Twitter and Facebook loving INQ Chat and INQ Mini phones, will launch a Google Android handset in 2010. It's CEO Frank Meehan told the Mobilize 09 conference in San Francisco that the firm can "beat Nokia and Sony Ericsson and Motorola". Big words but he could be right.
So far, INQ's phones have used the BREW development platform to create its social media savvy phones but that has limitations. Google Android will give the firm the ability to implement a host of new features and build far more flexibility into its handsets.
The INQ Chat and INQ Mini are likely to be the final non-Android phones from the company. We'd expect to see INQ applying its own social media focus skin to the Google Android OS, something similar to Motorola's newly announced Motoblur interface on its Motorola DECT device.
We'll nuzzle up to INQ and its UK carrier 3 to see if we can get you any more details, so keep your peepers pointed at Stuff.tv.
