Indie Royale kicks off PC game price wars

Get four games for £1.25 then cackle as you drive up the price for everyone else

The massive game releases in the run-up to Christmas are showing no sign of slowing down and we're looking forward to bingeing on big-budget blockbuster console games. But if you want to snack on some cheaper PC indie games in between bouts of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Assassin's Creed: Revelations you can pick up a bundle of four games for £1.25 on new site Indie Royale – if you're quick.

The price starts off as pay-what-you-want (min £1.25) but then rises over the five day period as more and more early birds take advantage of the cut-price bundle. Indie Royale drops it back down only when someone pays more than the minimum – like when an Indie Royale top contributor paid an eye-watering £186.

The games can be downloaded for PC, with Steam and Desura keys available and Mac and Linux versions flagged up but less likely. Plus Indie Royale is working on non-PC packs for the future after selling 350,000 games in less than a month. The "Really Big Bundle" is released today and includes space shooter Really Big Sky, Eufloria and RPGs Runespell Overture, Cthultu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII. The current minimum is £2.56 – GO!
