iMessage and AirPlay mirroring coming to OS X

Take your iNattering to the big screen with iMessage and AirPlay mirroring set to hit OS X

Both iMessage and AirPlay mirroring will be hitting future versions of OS X, according to whisperings on the interwebs.

MacRumours reports that a sharp-eyed code junkie has spotted hints in OS X Lion’s iChat framework suggesting that future iMessage support is in the works. If true, we imagine that both services will be rolled into one neat and tidy package as opposed to two separate apps.

Another feature touted for release by 9to5mac’s sources in future versions of OS X is Airplay mirroring, which would enable users to wirelessly beam their Mac’s display to any TV or projector connected to an Apple TV device.

No solid details from Apple have been released as of yet (no surprises there), so a mock-up video of iMessage running on OS X will have to do for now.
