Stop the gadget press – smartphone specialist HTC has just unveiled the Snap, a QWERTY keyboard-equipped blower with a focus on email. Should RIM be worried?
Anyone faced with a deluge of e-missives can filter out the important ones with a single button-press, thanks to a new feature called Inner Circle. Hit the Inner Circle button and all the emails from a preselected group of senders will rise straight to the top of the inbox.
The keyboard makes typing out messages a, ahem, snap, while other highlights include an 8.5-hour talk time and turbocharged HSDPA 3G connectivity, all crammed into a handset only 12mm thick. The Snap runs on Windows Mobile 6.1.
HTC has not confirmed pricing, carrier or specific release date info for the phone yet, but says it will be available some time during the second quarter of the year (ie the next three months).
