Having already raided the piggy bank for £425 of our hard-earned cash in anticipation of the PS3's launch, HMV is now asking punters to lay down another £250 for a 4GB PSP and two-game bundle on top.Purchase of the portable will secure entry to its online waiting list for the next-gen console. HMV's expecting 5,000 of us to sign on the dotted line and cough up the PSP portion straight away and the rest five days before the PS3 is dispatched.Even then, it still doesn't guarantee delivery of the hi-def gamer come the big day. HMV says it "cannot guarantee that registration on the Priority List means that you will receive your PS3 on the estimated release date, nor that your order will be fulfilled within any given time frame". Sounds promising. At least you won't be charged for the PS3 portion of the money should no shiny new console turn up to pair your lonesome PSP purchase with.
HMV pre-order PS3s, but at what price?
