Has the HTC One scared Samsung into producing a metal Galaxy Note 3?

The next Galaxy superphone could be taking a leaf out of HTC's all-metal design book. The beginnings of an aluminium Galaxy S5? Let's hope so

Despite its gorgeous 5in full HD display, powerful innards and more tricks than Batman’s utility belt, the Samsung Galaxy S4‘s plastic build left us wanting something a little more premium – especially since the HTC One dropped weeks earlier rocking a gorgeous aluminium unibody.

Samsung has clearly taken notice – according to SamMobile‘s sources, it’s worried by the bar the HTC One has set. So much so, that the Galaxy Note 3 will be getting a premium metal makeover, straying from the design cues established by the Galaxy S3 and its successor.

Whether or not the Galaxy Note’s shape will change remains to be seen, but we’re certainly not complaining if Samsung wants to start churning out machined aluminium smartphones and tablets. Metal Galaxy S5, here we come.
