Hard as nails Panasonic Toughbook tablet is on its way

Cases are for wimps, says Panny's Toughbook tablet, causing iPads to consider retracting claims of greatness

Panasonic’s Toughbooks are renowned as being the ruggedest laptops money can buy: the Land Rover Discoveries of the notebook world, if you will. Well, now the firm has inevitably turned its attention towards tablets – a 10.1-inch Toughbook slate is scheduled for launch later this year.

The Android-based tablet has an anti-glare screen for use outside, an extra-durable body, GPS, optional 3G (or 4G for our lucky Yank brethren) and “security embedded at the hardware level.” It’s slated (no pun intended) for a Q4 release, with no price information available as yet.
