It may have once been known for its allegiance to Windows Mobile, but now industry sources in Taiwan are hinting that HTC's more recent pairing with Android is set to become more than half its business.

Apparently the phone manufacturer is hoping to increase its Android handset shipment to over 50% in 2010, compared to 30% in 2009, and it'll be WinMo that will have to make way for this.

There are also whisperings that HTC is hoping to launch a big deal 3G handset featuring Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform (BMP) in September or October this year.

Sources reckon the BMP-based handset will pack a touchscreen, HTC's TouchFlo 3D tech and the new HTC Sense first seen in the Hero, but will be aimed at an entry-level market.

As always, we'll keep you in the loop with the latest, but until then be sure to check out our hands on video and full review with the HTC Hero.
