Guitar Hero: On Tour rocks the DS

Guitar Hero addicts, it’s time to drop the axe and grab your DS. Red Octane has officially confirmed a version of the planet’s most addict

Guitar Hero addicts, it’s time to drop the axe and grab your DS. Red Octane has officially confirmed a version of the planet’s most addictive game on Ninty’s best-selling handheld.

Dubbed Guitar Hero: On Tour, the new road edition will undoubtedly give credence to those air-guitar wigouts you’re prone to on the train platform.

Finger-twiddling action will come courtesy of the ‘Guitar Grip’, which slides into the DS’s GBA slot. You’ll be able to go all Jimmy Page on screen using the specially crafted plectrum stylus that’ll come bundled with the game.

Unlike the Gibson-alike we’re so used to cradling, the ‘Guitar Grip’ comes with four rather than five buttons, which we’re hoping makes it easier to get down to Smells Like Teen Spirit.

As well as the usual career mode, Red Octane has confirmed the new version of the game will feature multiplayer capabilities to boot. We also hear that the DS microphone gets a work out, although out sources remain cagey on exactly how.

It’s not due until summer, so while you practise your scales, why not watch the Stuff team kicking it Guitar Hero-style, last year.
