But not until Christmas.[/intro]It was just last Friday, as I was bumbling out the bassline to Message in a Bottle on Guitar Hero II, accompanied by Will on lead guitar, that I said "They should do another one of these with a drum kit add-on".

Well, it seems the gods of rock were listening, because no sooner was the weekend out of the way than along comes the announcement of just that, and more, in the form of Rock Band. This time, Harmonix, the creators of Guitar Hero, are joining forces with EA and MTV to offer the full rock band experience, complete with peripherals for lead/bass guitar, drums and vocals. We're promised the chance to butcher original master recordings from "the biggest songs and artists of all time."

This has potential to be the best multiplayer game ever when it comes out at the end of the year. Bagsy drums.
