If you missed the stampede for an HD-ready telly during World Cup fever, now may be the perfect time to play catch up. Grundig’s 32-incher, called the Phusio, is waiting in the wings and, at a knock down price of £850, we reckon it’s just the ticket for bargain hunting gadgeteers.

The Phusio has an integrated Freeview receiver (just in time for non-stop freebie FilmFour), 16W Nicam stereo output, automatic channel search, seven day programme guide, and 1366 x 768 resolution (WXGA).

The LCD TV isn’t just a feature-full offering, though. No, it’s a beaut too, with its refined finish and shapely, tapered edges – just how we like our, er, TVs.

The Phusio will set you back an impressively meagre £850 from Grundig’s website. But, if you can’t wait for it to arrive, you’d best check out the 27-inch HD ready Grundig on offer over at GuardianUnlimited right now. It has all the same goodies as the Phusio but in a daintier package, and is currently going for a bargainous £685.

Both TVs mark a welcome return for Grundig; after declaring bankruptcy in 2003, the British Alba/Beko consortium took control of the company and the brand has only recently made it back into the limelight.

We’re looking forward to more slick looking bargains from the Grundig camp, so stay tuned.
