While we were all musing over whether to shell out a grand for Blu-Ray or £500 for HD-DVD, Aldi went and snuck out a cheap-as-chips upscaler. The slimline player will feed HD-ready TVs with an upscaled 720p picture from standard DVDs, and according to several message boards it's not too bad at doing it.
