Having surprised us all with Chrome and given the mobile world a good firm kick up the backside with the excellent Android, is Google about to go one further and build its own OS?
Talk of a Google OS has been kicking around for years, but now new info unearthed by the intrepid gadget hounds at ElectricPig suggests work on the Big G's Windows challenger is well under way.
Apparently a third of the traffic from Google's employees is free of all identification strings, the things used to see which users are working with Windows, OSX or Linux.
The question is why? Surely any cover ups about Chrome and Android would be pointless seeing as both systems are already out in the wild. A Google OS is definitely on the cards, as cloud computing gets even bigger.
