Google spruces up Gmail for mobile

iPhone 4 and Blackberry Playbook users rejoice in pull down to refresh functionality

This Gmail update isn't a biggie but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate the considerate little tweaks that tech boffins are beavering away on to help us get more out of our screens. Gmail for mobile on iOS and Blackberry Playbooks now has the 'pull down to refresh' feature that you'll see, for instance, when using Twitter or Facebook's iPhone apps.

Google's also made the transitions between conversations and your inbox smoother and upped the ante in the icon resolution stakes to take advantage of the iPhone 4's Retina Display. Course, they'll have to tweak it again when the iPad 3 comes out, won't they?
