Google Doodle game marks Doctor Who's 50th anniversary

Whoodle Doodle? Google creates an interactive Google Doodle to mark 50 years of the world's longest-running sci-fi show

Doctor Who is going to be everywhere this weekend as the show marks its 50th Anniversary on 23 November.

Google's getting in on the celebrations early, with an interactive Google Doodle that turns the Doctor's adventures into an 8-bit game. Pick your Time Lord of choice, from the grumpy First Doctor as played by William Hartnell, to Matt Smith's hip young Eleventh Doctor, and dodge Daleks and Cybermen as you collect the letters making up the word "Google."

The Who Google Doodle (Whoodle Doodle? Whoodle?) is currently live on Google New Zealand, but expect it to roll out to other countries soon.

Of course, while Doctor Who's marking 50 years on Saturday, today is the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination. Let us be profoundly thankful that Google didn't decide to turn that into a game.
