With what would appear to be an industry wide phishing attack, CNET UK has received documents filled with thousands of usernames and passwords for Google and Yahoo accounts as well.
Details for accounts ending with yahoo.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com, msn.com, live.com and hotmail.fr were all noted on the document.
Perhaps the biggest risk is for those using Google’s Gmail, who can access other services such as Blogger, Google Docs, Google Talk and even YouTube using the same log in details.
A Google spokesperson has said: “We recently became aware of an industry-wide phishing scheme through which hackers gained user credentials for Web-based mail accounts including Gmail accounts.
“As soon as we learned of the attack, we forced password resets on the affected accounts. We will continue to force password resets on additional accounts when we become aware of them.”
If you have any of these email addresses, best to skip along and change your password and secret question sharpish, and be sure to let us know if you’ve been affected.
