Garmin debuts its Forerunner 610 GPS sports watch

First GPS touchscreen watch from Garmin busts out its running kit

Having a personal trainer is horrible. He turns up on your doorstep at 5.30am, shouting and wanting to go for a run. Fire the man and replace him with Garmin’s new GPS watch. The weatherproof Forerunner 610 will accompany you on your pavement stomps and is easily controlled by a glove-friendly touchscreen. Runners can monitor their heart rate via an optional strap, create interval workouts and be notified of alerts via vibrations. The Virtual Racer feature lets masochists to race themselves or other users for an extra slug of lung-busting motivation. But you can sleep soundly knowing the Forerunner 610 GPS won’t come shouting down your door at dawn.
