Garmin buys Navigon

Navigation giant Garmin has just gobbled up a slightly smaller nav company

Garmin has bought Navigon, the German navigation company. It means the American satnav giant adds an extra arrow to its European quiver, all the better to aim at its continental foe TomTom. Don't expect any wild changes, but more competitive pricing, a slew of products better tuned to the European market and some official Garmin satnav apps are all on the cards.
