With just days until the start of Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress, the Asus-Garmin alliance has outed two nüvifone smartphone handsets.
Star of this pre-show warm-up is the Android-engined A50, a 3.5in capacitive touchscreener with a 3MP camera, 4GB of storage (plus SD slot) and an accelerometer. Naturally enough, it’s also riding turn-by-turn GPS navigation, thanks to the Garmin influence.
Also on the bill, the M10 nüvifone runs WinMo 6.5, possibly upgradable to WinMo 7, expected to launch at the show next week. That’s also gone for a 3.5in screen (though resistive this time), 4GB trunk and sat-nav skills.
With Garmin manning the compass, they’ll both be rocking plenty of location tricks and we’d expect to hear solid details of availability and pricing next week.
