Game files for administration

The trouble continues for the plagued game peddler. Is this it for brick and mortar game stores?

Game has announced that it has officially filed for administration, following its removal from the London stock exchange earlier this morning, CVG reports.

This latest blow to the troubled game peddler arrives one week after Activision and Microsoft joined the likes of EA and Nintendo by pulling their support for the chain.

Game will continue trading for the time being, but the closing down of GameStation stores (which are also owned by the Game group) looks set to be a likely plan of action.

It's too early to say how many stores and jobs will be affected, or if there will be any price slashes to shift stock, but we'll be sure to keep you updated, so stay tuned.
