Tannoy, the veteran British hi-fi company synonymous with loudspeakers, launches a new range today: the Revolution Signature. The 'Signature' part means they're the sort of ultra-precise bins professional musicians use to listen to their stuff being played back, so it's no surprise to find top-quality build and materials throughout.
These include dual concentric drive units, an innovative driver chassis grounding terminal, high quality biwirable crossovers and silver-plated, oxygen-free copper internal wiring. If only we knew what that all meant.
What we can say is that with their real wood, ultra-rigid enclosures the range looks and sounds amazing: true audiophile quality from speakers that don't look like something that's fallen from the back of a roadie's van.
Match the £600-a-pair, four-inch driver DC4s or the £1,000-a-pair, six-inch DC6s with a choice of bass-thumping floorstanders from £400 to £800 for multichannel sound. All available in 'light oak' or 'dark espresso' and out now, noise fans.
