While PMPs may be one of the best inventions for boring commutes, the file compression process used to squeeze your tracks on to them can cause your music to sound a tad flat, and no where near what the artists had intended.

The Sound Jacket from Radiopaq has been created for use with the 4th gen iPod Nano, and is promising to significantly improve the audio quality of your tracks.

Basically acting like a Graphic Equalizer that automatically adjusts itself depending on the music that is playing, it eliminates distortion and can improve sound quality up to 60%.

The Sound Jacket also features a built in micro amp, so you'll also get a wide volume range to boot.

You can use the Sound Jacket either on a dock or with headphones, and it requires no power itself – taking its power directly from the iPod. However it will drain your battery life by half in the process, for up to 12 hours of playback.

You can pick the Sound Jacket up now from Amaazon and Radiopaq's website for £69.99.
