These days we don't get out of bed for a laptop unless it can slide under doors and slice open letters. Latest to take the slimming pills is Lenovo's ThinkPad X300, billed – at 18.5mm – as the world's thinnest 13in notebook.
Au contraire, MacBook Air owners might think. But then Lenovo sneakily adds the words "in its class", by which it means laptops with more than one USB port and with DVD drives. Ouch.
Like the Air, it gets an LED backlit screen and has 64GB of solid-state memory as standard, rather than a mere option.
It's tough too, living up to usual ThinkPad brick out-house standards with its own 'roll cage' and the added shock-resistant benefits of that solid-state drive.
It packs Core 2 Duo processors and up to a satisfying 4GB of RAM. Out now, so go get 'em chaps.
