‘Just can't do it!’ we cry like a Scottish chief engineer possessed as we get fragged yet again on our laggy PC, ‘We don't have the power!’ Time for an upgrade, wethinks, courtesy of Evesham's new range of intrepid games machines. The Oxegen Series bubbles to the surface with the entry level SX1000, which, like the rest of the range, gets the Coolermaster i-tower chassis. As the name suggests it keeps things cooler than the proverbial cucumber with an 'exclusive' fan system aerating its aluminium clad interior.Inside is a fearsome Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor, 2GB of RAM and a 256MB nVidia GeForce 8500GT graphics card. All is finished off with a sizable 22in widescreen display and a mammoth 500GB hard drive for movie and, er, high-score storing needs. The Oxegen SX5000 gets things cooking even more with two 256MB nVidia 8600GTS graphics and Creative 7.1 Speakers. But for the finger-bleeding ultimate it has to be the top of the range Oxegen SX9000 (pictured) which bumps, nay, punts the specs up to an Intel QX6700 Core 2 Extreme Quad with two 320MB nVidia 8800GTS graphics cards and 4GB RAM. Finally it's topped off with the spectacular Creative Gigaworks ProGamer 5.1 Speakers and a monster 24inch widescreen LCD with HDMI.Phew, we need to lie in a darkened room for a few hours.EssentialsEvesham Oxegen SX1000, SX5000, SX9000Price: from £1000On sale: Now Contact: EveshamRelated stories:Gadget of the Day – Evesham Zieo NX600-HDEvesham lappy replaces the desktop replacementGadget of the Day – Evesham Solar 8600GTS
