Sony already offers punters the chance to play PS3 games online for nothing. And now it seems Microsoft might be following their lead and unleashing Xbox Live online play for free.
According to gaming fanatics Kotaku, some gamers have been able to hop online and take on pals around the world without having to pony up for a gold account.
Games for Windows is already operating a freebie policy, and it appears titles on both PC and 360 are those which Xbox gamers have been able to access without having to dip into their bank accounts.
Nothing's official yet, but a move like this certainly would make sense if Microsoft wants to keep up the pressure on Sony and the growing might of the PS3. How do you feel about a spot of free Xbox Live? Let us know in the comments section.
