The iPhone 3G S has had a good couple of months to show us her ample charms and hidden secrets, but it seems that our discerning gadget-lovers over at Stuff.tv forums have something to say about missing functionality of the Jesus phone.
Dolph452, a Nokia user for over 15 years has niggles over what he calls "basic smartphone stuff", including
lack of preconfigured profiles, custom ringtonesa and Flash support.Dolph's also not amused by lack of browser choice, saying: "Other, better browsers are out there, but there is no way of changing the default browser away from Safari. It's OK, but missing so much."
Chapmania agrees, saying:"I agree that Flash is very processor intensive, so will drain the battery faster. However, other phones manage using Flash Lite, and there are other features which drain the iPhone's battery, like GPS. I think the real reason Apple won't allow Flash, is because they're concerned Adobe will gain control over the device."
On the subject of ringtones, Lynch suggests making your own using Garaband, while a crafty Doplh suggests Audiko.
Our favourite WinMo fan, Drunken Max also chipped in, stating that "the iPhone has been playing catch-up with its phone functionality from day one. Its USP is its UI' – which is fair enough.
