It’s a noisy world out there, teeming with diesel cars, ASBO kids and vociferous pets. Few headphones are better equipped to give you respite from the racket than Bose’s QuietComfort range, and now its top of the range model is coming to the UK.

The QuietComfort 3s are smaller, lighter and more expensive than their predecessors, and sport a new ‘on-ear’ design, which means they sit on top of your ear rather than cupping round them.

You’d think this might compromise their noise-cancelling powers, but Bose claims the tech in its newbie matches anything else in the range, reducing if not completely nullifying diversions like aeroplane engine noise or office chatter.

The only downside is that you need to remember to charge them up, although a full tank of juice will keep them going for 20 hours.

Bose hasn’t set an exact release date yet, but we have been invited to the official launch later this week, so keep your eyes on the screen for news.
