Mash up two of Stuff’s favourite past-times – comic book movies and video games – and what do you get? The Dell XPS: X-Men, a jaw-dropping, limited edition gaming computer that’s worth a cool $10,000 dollars.

Sadly, the movie machine – which has been announced to tie in with the new X-Men movie, opening Thursday 25th May in the UK – doesn’t appear to be going on sale. The only way you’ll be able to get your paws on one is if you live in the US and get lucky in Dell’s sweepstake competition at www.dell.com/e3.

As well as a BMW-worthy casing made from aluminium, the special XPS holds an 965 Extreme Edition Pentium – dual core, natch – and a mind-boggling four Nvidia graphics’ cards.

There is some good news. Later this year, you’ll be able to buy a X-Men-free version of the desktop – codenamed Heavy Ordnance – in the US and, hopefully, the UK. Dell UK’s still confirming for us.

The other bonus is that the mutant hook-up means you can watch an exclusive first seven minutes of the movie X:Men: The Last Stand on Dell’s site. It’s the one where Jean Grey goes bad, and looks pretty promising judging by the sneak preview.
