Every now and then an urge grips a member of the Stuff team to listen to a particular song. This morning it was Wild Wild West by Will Smith. Odd, I know, but these things happen and when they do they're out of our control. Luckily, for those of us without any Will Smith albums on our iPods a website called We7 exists – and its just agreed to expand its roster to include EMI artists.Set up by Peter Gabriel (he of Sledgehammer fame) We7 offers up full-length tunes completely free of charge, as long as you don't mind listening to some ads. EMI's addition means a boost of 400,000 tracks so I thought I'd find out just how intrusive a few pre-roll ads could be. The answer? Not very. Of the 20 or so songs I've played not one has had more than a two-second We7 ident before the track starts to play. With a catalogue including free tunes from Bob Dylan, Kings of Leon, Pink Floyd and of course Will Smith – plus the upcoming addition of EMI's tracks later in the year – We7 is beginning to shape up as a half-decent jukebox for when your iPod is M.I.A.
