Sound bars are the cinema surround sound systems for the lazy. One box and you're done. Trouble is the better bars tend to be a tad pricey – take Denon's £700 DHT-FS3 X-SPACE.
Not wanting to leave the pecuniarily challenged behind, Denon's developed the DHT-FS5 with oodles of audiophile goodness for a fraction of the price – say nearly half.
The output rating is the same healthy 150W (all down to the internal amp and six full-firing speakers) but now there's no sub to clutter the living room. Fair trade-off, we say.
It's launching in Japan for a very attractive £300, but expect the usual price hike when it makes our fair shores later this year.
