The race to manufacture laptops with dimensions in minus figures continues with Dell’s new XPS m1330 – the world’s thinnest laptop with a 13.3in screen. The skinny new notebook is just 0.9in thin at its narrowest point. But wait, the eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that the m1330 is wedge-shaped, meaning that at its fattest it’s actually 1.5in. D’oh.Dubious world records aside (what’s next, the world’s thinnest laptop with four pink USB ports that smell like rhubarb?) the 1330 comes in a choice of three colours and manages a 2.4Ghz Intel Core Duo processor, optional GeForce Go 8400M GS graphics card and slot loading DVD/R/W drive (rumoured to be going Blu-ray before too long) – all in a package that weighs less than 2kg.As with all Dell products it’s fully customisable too, so you can add a biometric fingerprint scanner and a 32GB solid-state flash drive to up your bragging rights. Kriss Akabusi would be proud.Essentials Dell m1330 Price: from £829 On sale: Now Contact: Dell Related stories: Dell’s bright new Inspirons Gadget of the Day – Evesham Zieo NX600-HD WIN – A Tosh laptop in our design competition
