Look out Toughbook, there's a new built-to-last laptop in town. The Latitude ATG D620 is Dell's first stab at a take-anywhere, withstand-anything lappy. The ATG bit stands for 'All-Terrain Grade', which means it's completed the virtual assault course of military-style vibration, humidity and altitude tests. Not that it's likely to find its way into many squaddies’ kit bags; more likely the briefcases of building site engineers and those with previous convictions for screen-cracking laptop cruelty.Speaking of screens, this one stretches to 14.1 inches and gets a glass overlay with anti-reflective coating. Dell claims 50 per cent more brightness than most notebook displays making it more suited to outdoor use. We've no firm date for a UK release but expect it to parachute in sometime within the next few weeks.
