It’s rare for us to spend hours staring at a monitor when it’s not even plugged in. So meet the sexiest monitor you'll probably see all year: Dell's Crystal.

Shown off as a concept way back in 2007, the PC-maker is taking the Crystal along to this year's CES as a full production model.

The 22in beauty will ship in the US in a few days’ time, and hopefully here a short while after. With its 1680x1050 resolution it's not quite up there with some higher-specced competitors – but frankly, who's counting pixels?

The built-in speakers have an output for an external sub, and there's also a tiny webcam baked into that translucent surround.

The downside? It's roughly four times as expensive as Dell's other 22in monitors – not that we'd allow those models anywhere near our stylish homes, of course.
