Nintendo's next-gen games console, the Revolution, could be with us by June 16th 2006… according to Amazon's French site.

With Microsoft's Xbox 360 due before Christmas 2005 and Sony's PlayStation 3 expected in the first quarter of 2006, a summer 2006 date would leave Nintendo trailing in a battle that many believe may be their last stand – in terms of home consoles, at least.

When all three consoles were demoed at this year's E3 gaming show, the Revolution was clearly in earlier stages of development than its rivals - Nintendo was sheepish on specs and some reports suggested they were showing nothing more than an empty box, albeit a very cool-looking one.

The suggested release date and price (€299.99, or £200) can be found here (as reported by our friends at Gizmodo). For full details of the Revolution, see our previous story.
