It’s one of the best headphone hat-tricks we’ve seen in a while and, believe us, we’ve witnessed some classics – Creative has launched three very diverse cans to get your eardrums vibrating.
The most conventional pair is the Fatal1ty Professional Series Gaming Headset, pictured above, left. Named after world champ PC gamer Johnathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel – who’d annoy you no end on internet shoot ‘em ups with that gamertag – the cans promise fat 40mm drivers, noise-cancelling tech and handy inline volume controls.
In the middle are Creative’s answer to Shure’s awesome E-series range, the 13g Zen Aurvanas. Cheaper than even the lowest-ranked E-series headphones, their Auraseal apparently makes them twice as effective as cans featuring noise-cancelling tech. We’ll be plugging them into our Zen Vision: Ms as soon as they become available to find out.
Finally, the SL3100s are looking to challenge the growing A2DP Bluetooth clan – such as the Jabra BT620s – with another shot of wireless convenience. They will apparently offer up to eight hours listening from a single charge, and have built-in controls that will work with compatible Zen players.
Creative has told us that all three will launch in the UK in the next month, and their US tags give an idea of pricing: the Fatal1tys are going for $130 (£70), the Zen Aurvanas for $100 (£55) and the SL3100s for $130 (£70).
