Featuring both a new game and a remake of 2004's excellent Escape From Butcher Bay, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena gives Vin Diesel's character an enjoyable Xbox outing.

Although Assault on Dark Athena alone isn't in the same league as its predecessor, the inclusion of a graphically polished remake of Butcher Bay featuring greater detail and improved lighting makes the whole package a bargain for anyone who hasn't played the original.

Mixing stealth, shooting and hand-to-hand combat in the dark corridors of an intergalactic slave ship, Dark Athena has solid graphics, excellent voice acting and plenty of variety in its early stages, and although the AI and repetitive enemies sometimes get a little frustrating the game is strong enough to keep you playing until the end.
