We've seen the future of TV and it's lasers – according to Mitsubishi, anyway.

Seems our current crop of LCDs and plasmas are short-changing us when it comes to colour, showing only half the ones the eye can see. By switching to lasers, Mitsubishi reckons it can boost colour output to an impressive 90% of the eye's range. Not to mention the improvements in clarity, and depth of field.

Its top execs whipped the covers off three 65in beauties in the Palms casino's Moon nightclub last night to much fanfare. The company promises they'll be in the shops some time around November, in the US at least.

Meanwhile we'll just stare at our old telly in growing disgust.
