Sonoro is about as much of a household name as Chasetown FC’s reserve goalie, but its shiny new radios have caught our roving eye at CES.

The Cubo elements (left) and fusion (right) build nicely on the original Cubo, which arrived in slightly more colourful livery last autumn. Both bring a new glossy, lacquered finish, can play CDs and have an FM radio, which is all handy if not exactly revolutionary.

But the German company’s new pair also have one new special power each. The fusion sports a dedicated iPod dock to complement the original’s aux-in for other MP3 players. And the elements gets extra tech points for supplying access to internet radio and its tens of thousands of stations. It’s just a shame all these functions aren’t all in one product, and that neither sports DAB like the Pure Chronos iDock.

Still, we’ll have the full lowdown on them when they hit the UK in ‘early 2008’.
